Who knows better how to critique society than someone who has been through it all? Tom Keifer hit the scene as the frontman for the iconic hard rock Philadelphia band Cinderella, gaining hits through the 80s and 90s. He has written through many political shifts and created in the face of uncertainty. Perhaps most notably: he suffered a paralyzed vocal chord in the 90s that had doctors informing him that he would never sing again.

After three years of hard work and rehabilitation, the artist came back as a force to be reckoned with. #keiferband’s record RISE marks the second solo album for Tom Keifer, and features the hard-hitting single “HYPE”, which you can hear above. Written with Savannah Keifer, the track is loaded with distorted sounds and big guitar chords. Keifer wields the power with that ever-present voice as the guitar moves around him and the drums smash explosively.

True to the hard rock power of the track, the video is all green light and shadows. The band is showcased with their larger-than-life personalities as Tom Keifer leads the show. Meanwhile, bystanders buy paper likes, followers, promises, and even votes. The critique of today’s social media obsession and twisted world is visually displayed while the song rages on.
